Material tester

We're building the future of smart glasses, and we need curious minds to help shape it. At our Rotterdam headquarters, we're developing a proprietary manufacturing process for prescription lenses tailored for Augmented Reality and smart eyewear.

Location: Rotterdam, NL (full-time / on-site) Experience: At least 3 years of experience

We’re a small, focused team solving one of the hardest challenges in wearable tech: delivering high-precision, thin, and scalable lens systems that work seamlessly with AR displays.

We are looking to grow our R&D Team, the core group responsible for prototyping, custom builds for customers, and solving the technical challenges that come with being first.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will design, establish, and execute a controlled laboratory environment for the preparation, casting, and curing of solution-based multi-component materials, ensuring repeatable procedures, safety compliance, and process validation.

Tasks:

  • Run Trial Experiments from A to Z
  • Validate the reliability and reproducibility of the casting method with new materials
  • Compare experimental outputs against control samples
  • Document process parameters, deviations, and outcomes

What We’re Looking For

  • A solid technical foundation (e.g.chemical engineering, process Engineering or similar).
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with running materials experiments and setting up stuctured operating procedures
  • Run projects independently, collaborate with suppliers
  • The ability to bring structure to complex technical challenges

What You’ll Get

  • A Hard Challenge: We’re building something that doesn’t exist yet. It’s deep-tech with real-world impact.
  • Ownership: You’ll have real influence on the product, the process, and how we grow as a team.
  • Growth: As we expand globally, you’ll be part of the team setting the standard for what comes next.
  • Competitive Pay: We offer a solid salary, with plenty of upside along with company success.

You’ll help shape products used by the next generation of AR devices, and be part of a team doing something no one else is doing (yet).
